Week 9: Skeleton drawings

hhhh
First drawings of Skeletons. I'm finding it difficult to figure out the proportions, shape of ribs and hip bones. Length of limbs and where they join is a bit of a struggle and I need more practice there. I also need to figure out the curves of the spine and where it curves and where it shows on the back.
Different perspectives, other than just standing ones, are proving to be a challenge. I feel like with more practice and study of the skeleton, I will be able to figure out the proportions soon.

1 minutes skeleton poses. A quick but stressful way of practicing perspective with skeletons. I forgot to use line of action a lot, just thinking drawing the spine would do the job. But I think that was a mistake and it would've helped me a lot. The proportions are off a bit, but I think this exercise helped with being more comfortable doing perspective.

First drawing I misunderstood a bit. We were supposed to draw the body and draw over where the bones stuck out the most. But I drew the skeleton, which would've been ok except i should have drawn the body as well. The ribs are throwing me off a bit, shape and number wise. In both drawings I struggled with the proporttions and perspective of the hip bones, also the tail bone. I think I did the ribs a bit too low on the top drawing. The head maybe a tad small on the first picture.
I've always struggled with drawing skulls, but the first one didn't go too bad. The perspectives were very difficult to figure out, even with the help of boxes. Maybe next time I should try drawing the face first then the skull. Need practice and study of skull in this area.
