RockBand

So we just finished our first full animated assignment, Rockbands. Where the class was put into groups of 4 or 3. We had to chose a piece of music to last 30 seconds, and come up with a background and characters to match it.
My group pretty much immediately agreed on slow reggae music (we figured slower music would be easier to animate to) and drew up Jamaican animals in rasta clothing and beanies, they looked super awesome.
Everyone came up with their animals and instruments fairly quickly but I got a but stuck on a instrument for my snake which was originally had bongos. The song didn't have anything like that however, and guitar, bass, and piano was taken. My team helped me and a DJ set was chosen. Thus, DJ Snek was born.
I honestly loved all our quirky characters and how they played with so much personality. Once again I struggled animating the snake. I couldn't figure out how to not make it "shimmy" when it moved. Though it didn't look so bad from a distance , so I just said the shimmy was just part of the snake being a snake.....

My job in the group was to figure out composition and use the After Effects program. I think it went well for my first go, and with the help of my peers and teachers and internet. It's a bit tricky, but luckily our task wasn't too complicated.

So our finished product looked like this (I couldn't upload the video)

We got second place :D
